Wow! What a perfect weekend for Carstens Farm Days!
The weather was absolutely perfect, and the crowds were wonderful. Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us for a good time!
Saturday morning was a little crazy to begin with.
We had received a couple of inches of rain on Friday afternoon/evening, so we we started out our day with a lot of mud to contend with. We wish we would have got pictures of some of the adventures we had with clearing a path through the mud into the parking area, but we were too busy pushing cars by hand and pulling a few out with the tractors!
To say the least, we were thankful for Darin Peters for jumping on one of the tractors and using the loader to scrape bucket loads of mud out of the way, not to mention all the people who pulled others out and those that helped push cars out of some places.
Thankfully, most people kept a sense of humor and their patience. By mid-morning, the mud was no longer an issue, and things got back to normal.
The trolleys have been a welcome addition to Farm Days, allowing visitors to have a great way to get back and forth from their vehicles to the farm grounds and an easy way to transport packages back and forth. Thanks to everyone who spent their time driving these trolleys.
We had our second highest number of vendors at the Farm this year. It is always interesting to see what the vendors bring to the Farm, and with several new vendors joining us, there was certainly a lot to see and to take home with you! There seemed to be a lot of packages making their way to the vehicles and many smiling faces because of it.
As usual, there was a lot to see, a lot to do, a lot of people to visit with and no shortage of good food to eat.
A big thank you to Randy Yates for the aerial view of the Farm. Be sure to check out the video to the right.
