2019 has been an odd year for weather, and Farm Days was no exception.
The weather was great as we started our day on Saturday morning. The sun was shining, and everyone was commenting on the nice weather. We all went about our day, trying to ignore the weather forecast for storms later in the day.
Near the end of the parade, it started to sprinkle. And then, it rained. It certainly made standing in line for the Staley's Chicken Dinner on Saturday night interesting. Fortunately, everyone had a sense of humor, and everyone got fed. When the food is good, everyone sticks around!
The featured tractor was Minneapolis-Moline, and they came out in big numbers. We also had a lot of other brands of tractors and a good number of farm equipment displays.
We were fortunate to have 67 vendors at Farm Days this year. There was a wide variety of things, including jewelry, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, decorations, blankets, towels, quilts, wood crafts, plants, bird houses, honey, caramel popcorn, tractor parts, wood crafts, steam engines, antiques, re-styled "junk", caricatures, artistic drawings and paintings and much more. There was definitely something for everyone.
2019 Quilt Raffle
We had a great quilt show, with many people bringing their quilts for us to display.
This year's quilt was an eagle quilt. It was beautifully made, machine-quilted and donated to the Farm for the raffle by Carol Von Eschen. Thank you, Carol, for your generosity.
The 2019 raffle winner was Heidi Hermanson. Congratulations, Heidi!!

To all of those who brought quilts to the Farm for us to display, to all of those who helped hang the quilts, and to all of those who assisted with the quilt show in any way, we thank you.
To Jan Hursey and Marilyn Evans, thank you for all the time you put into this project, for all the worrying you do about it, for organizing the quilt show and seeing to all the details, THANK YOU!
