Carstens 1880 Farmstead, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and display of agricultural equipment and the celebration of Iowa's farm history. This web site is provided to promote and encourage interest in the operation and preservation of Carstens Farm and to educate the public about the ways of life in the good old days.
Carstens 1880 Farmstead, Inc. owns and operates this 80-acre farm. There are eleven board members who manage the Farm and its operations, and we rely on volunteers and community organizations for the maintenance and upkeep of the Farm.

Mission
To preserve the historical building site known as Carstens 1880 Farmstead to be utilized to educate the general public on the history of farming in Iowa;
To maintain Carstens 1880 Farmstead to illustrate to the general public the lifestyle and living conditions of early pioneer farmers in Iowa; and
To promote interest in local farm history by publications, programs and celebrations of the early farm settlers in Iowa.
